- Medium roast ground Arabica from the Rwenzori Mountains, Uganda. Natural process. Plum, dark chocolate, and brown sugar in the cup. Bright acidity, smooth body.

What's in the bag

250 grams of single-origin Arabica from the Rwenzori Mountains, natural processed and medium roasted, pre-ground. Natural means the coffee cherry is picked ripe and dried whole in the sun before the bean is removed. The fruit dries around the seed over two to three weeks, pulling sweetness and body into the bean. The result is a heavier, fruitier cup than washed coffee. Ground to a medium grind, ready to brew.

How it tastes

Natural Arabica drinks differently than washed. More body, more fruit, brighter acidity than you would expect. This one opens with plum and a clean dark chocolate. Brown sugar comes through as it cools. The acidity is bright but balanced, not sharp. Smooth body that plays well with milk and makes a forgiving cup no matter how you brew it. If you usually drink washed coffee and want to try something with more weight and fruit, this is the one.

Where it comes from

The Rwenzori Mountains run along Uganda's western border with Congo. Coffee grows on the slopes between 1,500 and 2,200 metres in volcanic soil. Nonda buys directly from smallholder farmers here who dry the cherry at the farm level. The dried cherry is hulled at a central station, hand-sorted, and graded. The farmer gets paid above the government-set farmgate. Every bag traces to a specific lot and harvest date.
